Although I no longer book individual itineraries, I am happy to recommend a few of my favorite luxury travel suppliers. While I have been an invited guest for many of these companies, I never accept a trip in exchange for any promise of positive stories or a call out on this page. The opinions and findings below are my own and always unedited.
Historic Travel with Alison Weir
Where does a travel writer go on vacation? No question for me, I join Alison Weir on one of her fabulous tours. To me, the finest in the world. Travel by luxury coach, sleep in historic hotels, and enjoy privileged access to areas not normally open to the public. Alison Weir is an award-winning author and historian. TCS World Travel
There is simply no better way to take in so many global highlights than on an around the world expedition by private jet. A perfect around the world itinerary, hotels that reflect an authentic time and place in history make these trips exceptional. TCS has always been a leader in the private jet world and I am honored to have joined many of their expeditions.

Viking Cruises
Real luxury travel is about access. Viking has perfected the “destination experience” on their river and now ocean itineraries. One reason for their superb excursions is Karine Hagen, daughter of owner Tor Hagen. Her personal connections and extensive travels have crafted a network of specialists who are not only her friends, but will become yours. ( But their superb food, luxury cabins, excellent service and top notch staff do make the exploring so much more fun!)

Silversea Cruises
Silversea Cruise lines ranks as one of the top luxury cruise lines in the world. And with good reason. I have cruised with Silversea in the Mediterranean, the Arabian Gulf and most recently in the South China Sea. While the ship I was on, the Silver Shadow, was not one of their expedition ships, my trip was still quite the expedition. Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, Brunei, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Thailand. Every day was exotic and exciting. You can find my article about my visit in Borneo, “Conversations about Ecotourism and Headhunting in Borneo” here. And without a doubt, the luxury onboard matched the excitement on land.
Check out my video here and I can’t wait to see where Silversea will take me next.
