On May 15, 2022, Viking hired me as their Ambassador-at-Large. A position that will allow me to sail the world with Viking and share the story of the absolute best ocean and river cruise line in the world.

Jean began writing and sharing travel in print and on social media following 18 years with the Smithsonian Institution, where she was responsible for their extensive portfolio of international tours (over 300 yearly) and the student travel program. She then served for four years with Signature Travel Network as Managing Director for Communications and Public Affairs.
A Masters in Science, Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University led to a 12-year career in international oil consulting with a focus on the geopolitics of the Middle East and Arabian Gulf and worldwide travels before joining the Smithsonian team.
Jean has worked with the White House, US Department of State and US Chamber of Commerce to promote tourism post Arab Spring in the Middle East and Northern Africa. Jean serves as Vice-Chair on the Board of American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA), and is a Board member of Petra National Trust.
Through my stories and images, I take my audience around the world inspiring and educating them to explore the world.
My extensive travel background with the Smithsonian Institution and in the corporate world, coupled with my work experience, has given me unparalleled “feet on the ground” travel experience. Think Easter Island 15 times–I know the Moai by name. I have visited almost every country in the world and know many of the current tourism ministers personally. I am passionate about promoting travel and tourism.
Through my social media platforms, my blog, and online and print publications, I reach a very affluent international luxury traveler – the coveted ultra-high-net-worth individual (UHNW). In 2015, 2016 and 2017 I was named as one of Klout’s Top Ten Worldwide Travel Influencers/Experts on the topic of travel worldwide. This is a measure of actual interactions, not just numbers of followers.
